Flexible Ethernet networking The CloudEngine S310-48T4S supports a wide array of Ethernet redundancy protocols, including STP, RSTP, MSTP, and Huawei’s own Smart Ethernet Protection (SEP). It also features Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS), compliant with ITU-T G.8032, offering sub-50ms failover capabilities. These technologies ensure high network availability and rapid recovery from faults. Intelligent link backup Smart Link technology allows the switch to connect to multiple upstream aggregation switches, supporting active/standby uplinks for enhanced access reliability. This eliminates single points of failure and strengthens network resilience. Advanced security control The switch supports 802.1X, MAC address-based authentication, and hybrid authentication modes. Administrators can enforce dynamic policies such as VLAN assignment, QoS, and ACL configurations per user session. These features help secure access and enforce role-based network segmentation. DoS and spoofing protection To safeguard against common network threats, the switch includes protections against SYN flood, Smurf, and ICMP flood attacks.
